Brave Minds is an independent Ukrainian non-governmental organisation dedicated to protecting the mental health and wellbeing of firefighters, rescuers, and emergency responders.

We believe that those who dedicate their lives to protecting others deserve access to confidential, professional psychological support—regardless of where they serve or the challenges they face.

Founded in response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Brave Minds was created after recognising a significant gap in support for the men and women responding to missile strikes, collapsed buildings, fires, humanitarian emergencies, and mass casualty incidents. While emergency services have received vital operational support through equipment and training, the psychological impact of responding to these events has often remained unseen.

Brave Minds exists to change that.

Our Mission

To protect the mental health and wellbeing of firefighters, rescuers, and emergency responders through confidential psychological support, education, outreach, and research, strengthening the resilience of emergency services in Ukraine while advancing knowledge that benefits responders around the world.

Our Vision

A future where every emergency responder has access to the psychological support they need to thrive, and where the lessons learned in Ukraine help shape the future of emergency responder wellbeing globally.
